Points to Remember When Performing a Pattern
  1. Patterns should begin and end on the same spot (there are some exceptions to this rule).
  2. Snap your head in the direction you are moving first.
  3. Correct posture, stance and facing must be maintained at all times.
  4. Muscles of the body should be tensed or relaxed at the critical moments.
  5. The pattern should be performed in a rhythmic motion, not stiff or jerky movements.
  6. Movements should be accelerated or decelerated where appropriate.
  7. Perfect each pattern before moving onto the next.
  8. Know the purpose of each movement.
  9. Perform each movement with full power.
  10. You should be tired after every pattern.
  11. Hold your last move until told to return.
